Danielle Faith Presents:
El Dia de los Muertos
by: Kristyn T.
Those gone are not long forgotten,
the old phrase reverberates in my skull.
It has been 7 years since the dreadful
day of your death. On this day, the beauty
the departed with you shall return.
Those who do not understand
see through the blood and skeletons
fearful eyes. But I, I know the power
of bringing back those that have passed
into the darker world of the afterlife.
The flame flickers in the cold air
as the wax begins to drip down
the crimson candle. Some may call
this scene one of evil and wickedness,
some are haunted by what we welcome back.
Curtain wave in the wind
as if to say hello. I know it’s time
for you to make your entrance.
The dancing circle of joy begins
as you make your appearance known.
